Youth Ministries

Youth Ministries at First Presbyterian Church is designed to introduce students grades 6 through 12 to the love of God in Christ Jesus, and to enable each student to find his or her place as a part of our congregation.

Through learning and doing, our Youth Ministries Program focuses on delving into Jesus’ message and ministry and provides the opportunity to develop a genuine relationship with God through Jesus Christ and explore many ways to live out our Christian faith in daily life. Students learn how to read, search, and apply Scripture to their daily lives and wrestle with the tough questions so they will become faithful witnesses to Jesus. Christians, new or old, need solid relationships with other believers. At First Presbyterian Church we have created an atmosphere that encourages community among students in order that they form genuine, lifelong relationships with each other.

On Sunday mornings, we attend the 9:30 worship service, followed by Sunday School during our church-wide Education Hour, a time of reading and reflection on the weekly scripture. We also have Youth Group activities, mission opportunities, camps, age-appropriate fellowship, Bible study and fun! Programs vary in their purpose, but all are safe and welcoming. Paid staff and volunteers provide leadership in all youth programs, and all adult leaders are screened to ensure the safety of our youth.
