9:00 Informal Service and 10:30 Liturgical Service
Children begin worship with their families during both the 9:00 and 10:30 am services. Sunday School classes leave the service following the First Scripture Reading with children (at 9:00 am) or after the anthem (at 10:30 am). Sunday School age groupings are: Infant-4 yr (with certificated caregivers), 5 yr-1st grade, 2-3 grade, and 4th to 6th grade. Classes use Spark Lectionary curriculum taught by volunteer teachers and staff.
Milestone Classes are taught by Pastors and other teachers. We celebrate with our children and youth as they reach these milestones in their lives. The Sacraments Class for K and 1st graders is a class where children can learn about communion and baptism. It takes place annually in September/October. The Bibles class for 3rd graders guides students through lessons on the parts of the Bible. On the last Sunday of the class, each student receives a Bible in church. The Kids in Mission class is for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. This class allows children to learn about service and sharing faith. We are doing practices we want to continue into adulthood. For class dates contact Susan Croshaw.
For infants through age 4 our Sunday nursery is lovingly staffed with childcare professionals from 8:45 until 11:30 every Sunday morning. The Nursery is located on the lower level across from the Garden Room in room 202 (Savannah Room). We take a cell phone number and ask that parents put their phones on vibrate in case they need to be called back to the nursery. Children of all ages are welcome at our worship services on Sundays, and parents are welcome to keep infants and toddlers with them if they prefer.
Contact Susan Croshaw, Children’s Ministries Director, for more information on the program and/or volunteer opportunities.
